Blessing Charm

The usual funtion of a Taiwanese blessing charm is to be pasted on the wall of a temple or carried with personal objects like a wallet to protect the owner. Or even in my grandmother’s generation, the paper were burned to drink the ask, bringing the protection into the body.
Seeing this traditional design used to inspired album art work, I choose to play with this traditional form to tribute this “ZAWADA” surreal ephemeral virtual experiences into my work.
And by transplanting this concept onto a facial filter, the connection of charm and human are suddenly more intimate through the virtual world.
